  1. I replaced recently my 710 CB 2 iron by the new 712U 2 and I hit it about 15 yds more.

The problem is that this is creating about 30 yds gap between the 3 iron (miz MP 67) and the 712U.

    Is this normal? Any suggestion?

    Thanks

I stopped carrying hybrids partially for the reason that a 2 or 3 hybrid goes farther than a 2 or 3 iron.  Also, I like long irons, and have always hit them good.  While you may do better getting a hybrid out of the rough, I find you can't work it as much, especially if you get into trouble or semi-trouble and have to carve it around something.  I have 714 AP2's 3-PW, but also have 714U 2 & 3.  Yep they do go a little farther, but I use them situationally, based on the course or weather etc., and may put the 3 in place of my 5wd or 2 instead of my 3wd.  Consider what else you have in the bag and what the need at the time is based on the course, the wind, the weather, wet dry, keep it low etc.  You'll find a good fit as you experiment

  3. If you choke down on the club an inch or so...it should shorten your yardage appropriately to fit into the mix..then you can have various long yardages for different needs...seems like a win to me!

  4. You're totally right, extra yardage is a good problem to have.

It's a great club that gives you lot of room, I'd love to have the 1 iron version available.....

    Thanks for the replies
