I bought a new set of ap2with Graf. R flex shafts I have always played ap1s but I am retirining soon and wanted the very best I orderd these and love them I let a friend hit them and I am so upset as he hit them on toe and heels and now I have marks I can't stand to look as I have always been a constant ball stiker. I play the five thru pw in these . What can I do I know this seems crazy I have always taken the best care of my clubs. I play all titleist clubs. Thanks help?

There have been some threads recently about club refinishers - although not Titleist.  Those were tales of self-inflicted damage to new 914 AP2s as well.

Now that you've loaned them and the clubs have a mark, which will be harder to repair - the clubs or the friendship?

I have only hit one ball off the crown since 2012 - in the first week of getting a 913 D2 in November.  It really only affects resale value, so I'll check some Goth stores for some black fingernail polish so I'll have to stare at address to see the scratch.  The club still delivers - and my wife is still more beautiful.  ....The clubs will be replaced in a few years, and will be a lot cheaper than a new wife - priorities.

If they are marks on the face, you might be able to clean them with mineral spirits or if it is really scuffed, you could really, really carefully use a very  fine steel wool and soapy water.  Keep in mind, that you are taking down the chroming on it.

That stinks, at least the marks are not on the top line and are not visible at address :)

let us know if you take some steel will to the club, would like to hear how that turns out

harry; depending on how bad the scratch is, this might work. It has worked for me in the past, and is inexpensive. Most golf stores have what is called a scratch eraser. (or something to that effect) It is a dark gray rubber substance, and looks like, and feels like the erasers we used to use in school. (I'm retired also, so I'm sure you remember those erasers. I used them a lot when I was in school)Get yourself one and try it. I think their around $5.00 so you won't be out much if it doesn't work.
