Based on his research at the Putter Studio, Scotty is a firm believer that all putters should have a certain amount of toe flow. Because players stand to the side of the ball (rather than directly over) and use putters with a lie angle no greater than 80° (rather than completely vertical), the putting stroke must follow an arcing path (rather than straight back and through).

That said, players do differ in the amount of toe flow required for them to make a proper putting stroke along the arcing path and the Scotty Cameron putter line includes models with a variety of toe flow options from maximum to minimum. These toe flow characteristics are included in the specifications for each putter on our product pages (links below). You will want to look at our models with near minimum or minimum toe flow - Select Fastback and Squareback; GoLo 5, S5, and 7; and Futura X.

Thanks for the information.  I'm assuming that the best way to try out a number of Scotty Cameron putters is by visiting my local golf retailer or pro shop?  I live in Maryland and haven't heard of any Scotty Cameron/Titleist events in my area and would really like to try out a few of the putters you mentioned above before I buy.  Again I appreciate all the help.

You are right, the best way to test out putters is at the pro shop. If you want to check if a putter is face balanced the easiest way is to balance the shaft on your finger.  If the face points up it's face balanced.

Take a soda and enjoy your morning or afternoon and experience a great putter.  Trying them all is the fun part.  I have two Scottys and really appreciate the workmanship.  One is a Newport 2 older model and the other is a Newport 2 Notchback Select which I currently carry in my bag.  Any time I go into a proshop/golfshop I have to pick up a different SC putter and give it a roll, always tempting, but........love my current setup....she ain't pretty, but she's my putter...  :-) 

Hello Jake; I was in the same dilemma as you last year, and I can tell you from experience that you should for sure check out the GoLo S. It is the most face bal. putter that Scotty makes. (Most str. back-str .through) I probably have as much of a straight back, straight through swing as anybody, and last year I was in my local pro shop and they had just about every model SC there is, so I tried all of them, but they just didn't feel quite right to me. Then I noticed a GoLo S in the back of the rack, and I thought, I never did care much for  a straight - center shaft putter, buy thought as long as I'm here I'll try it, and bingo, I putted better with it than any of the rest, so the next day I ordered my GoLo S and it's the best putter I've ever played. It may not be best for you, but don't cheat your self out of trying possibly the best putter that you've ever played. Also, be sure to go to a Titleist dealer, since SC has a lot of options to choose from.  Hope this helps in your decision making, so give it a try.
