Hey, everyone. I currently have the Golf Pride BCT Cord grips on all of my clubs. I usually play in very humid, warm weather, and my grips always seem too stiff and slip. What I'm really looking for is a way (or maybe even new grips) that will make my grips tackier. I'm all about the tackiness of the grip as well as the moisture resistance. I've heard of roughing up the cord every once in a while, and I will certainly try that, but are they any other ways to solve this problem?

    Thanks,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks for the question.

Best advice is to make sure you keep your grips clean.  After every round give them a quick wipe with a wet towel to get the residue off of them.

    Hope this helps.

I've just reconditioned the rubber my BCT grips and they now feel tacky as heck. Very surprised as they seemed to be drying up a bit over the winter. They are still quite firm feeling but now are sticky too.

    Hope this helps.

I just had my AP1s regripped with Winn Dri-Tacs.  Great grips for humid days and tacky.

Like Winn putter grips because of their softness but for durability, gotta go with golfpride on the rest of my Titleist clubs.  You can take a golfpride off and put it back on the club if you need to work with the shaft.  You cannot do that with a Winn grip.   Just a matter of choices.

This Winn Dri-Tac grip is a hole in one for Winn!! I replaced all the grips on my clubs with them-- all but the putter and I keep the Scotty Cameron grip very clean.

Hey Michael, I have the exact problem when I don't keep them clean or they need replacing......I play the Golfpride muli compound and they last a good while if I do what Bubba suggests....I play normally four days a week and I too play in humid warm weather, coastal South Carolina...chuckZ

    Michael,

Depending on how old your grips are, they may need to be replaced.  If not that old try hitting them up with some 220 sp.

I use to give them a quick wipe down with wet towel after each round, then once a month would clean them with a SOS pad for a good scrubbing. The orange hand cleaner is what I use today on my NDMC grips

You might want to take a look at the brand new Lamkin UTX grips.  I live in SC, where we define hot & humid, and these new Lamkin grips work great.  Tacky with traction and not squishy soft.
