    Good Morning everyone!

Sorry its been so long since my last post, been super busy with work, my question is, I have a set of irons that are a few years old, they are in need of re-grooving and I see you can purchase a regrooving tool from Academy and other golf shops online, what my question is, how hard is it to do and will I see a difference once I re-groove?

Thanks in advance for the info!!

Scott, I had a set of png Zing Copperheads that I had played for well over 10 years and from the 5 iron down there was a noticeable wear on the groves.  I was playing the irons just fine but figured that the grooved needed that better edge.  I asked my pro about re-grooving, he looked them over and he said that he had the tools and could do the job for me but it wouldn't make much difference.  I asked him about sending the clubs to the factory and he said the same thing.  Well, I had him do the job anyway and he was right, I couldn't see or feel any improvement.  Short game, mid range, ball flight, spin, nothing changed.  That was my experience.  He charged $50 and I should have listened and bought balls instead.  If you do re-groove, hope it works for the better for you.

    Thank you Allen....

Im going to heed your advice and not mess with it a whole lot, I got to looking at the grooves on the upper irons, and honestly with the exception of a few rock marks, they are about 7 years old, I think cleaning them out good and switching to a soft feel ball might be the ticket I am looking for, and then maybe a Christmas gift to me would be a new set of irons! Thanks again fro the advice Allen!
