  1. I recently got a set of ap2 irons. They have a project x5.0 regular flex shafts. I have a 18 hc. What can I expect to get from these irons as far as flight and feel is concerned?

    Thanks

First, in order to say if you will "feel" anything different we need to know what you have been playing. The AP2 is forged, and will give you a softer, solid feel. If you came from a cast GI iron, the change in feel will be more dramatic. Overall the AP2 head is extremely stable, and paired with the PX 5.0, you will see maybe a higher launch (again depending on what you had before) but without ballooning. PX are a good shaft, assuming you were properly fit, they should make you very happy.

I have a question for you.  Did you get fitted for these clubs?  The reason I ask this, with all due respect, it that this is a question you should have asked during the fitting......just curious

If you were fit you should be fine.  If not you may have some problems with these clubs.  For an 18, not much offset in the AP 2, a lot less forgiveness.

  5. I did get fitted and they felt good on the simulator. I previously played with a set of Mizzuno JPX 825's. I was looking for the different characteristics of the Titleist AP2 as compared to the Mizzuno JPX's.

  6. Hi Glenn,

I bought the AP2s a little over a month ago. I was previously playing the JPX 800 pro. I was custom fit for both irons. For me, there wasn't much difference in feel. Both clubs were forged so you're getting the nice soft feeling. The difference came for me on the flight. The AP2s were giving me a better more penetrating flight (especially on the longer irons). Also, I'm not sure if this is a thing, but for whatever reason, I've been noticing a little more "bite" on my short irons compared to the JPX. It could very well be the indian and not the arrow...

The AP2s are really nice clubs and I have been enjoying some of my best golf this past month. Enjoy!
