Any help appreciated on the  following.

Have taken delivery of my AP2  714's and thanks to a great and thoroughly professional  fitting I am already  benefitting with more consistent  ball striking, great forgiveness and better accuracy.

A playing colleague has a 913 D2 and I've always loved the club. When I was looking for a new driver 3 years ago I was told the Titleist was too good for me as my striking wasn't  good enough to get the best out of the club.I came away with a cally RAZR Fit.  I have been into American Golf and Direct Golf. Neither have the 915 D2 in left hand. I have, however, been told in both outlets that my swing speed at around 86mph is not fast enough to get the best out of the Titleist driver.

I have tested the png G30 and have made gains of 10 yards+ on my cally. The fitter I went to for my irons doesn't carry a left handed head to try.

    Two questions:-

    1. Are the staff in the 2 outlets giving me the correct advice?

    2. Where is the closest outlet/fitter/pro shop I  can test the 915?

I live in Doncaster South Yorkshire. Doncaster Golf Range is where I was fitted for my AP2 's and they don't carry a 915 left handed head.

All help and advice gratefully received.

Chris, it's always been my opinion that if you like looking down at the club then you will adjust and make it work for you (most of the time). To say that a club is "too good" for your ball-striking is on the verge of being absurd. If you're a good enough ball-striker to play AP2 irons with little or no issue then you should be able to handle a Titleist D2 driver easily. In reference to the D2 driver, I would suggest that you get fitted for the correct shaft and head-loft combination that suits your swing. Dependent upon your angle of attack, I would think a 10.5 or 12 degree head with lighter high launch shaft would be right down your alley. The Bassara or Diamana Red would be the first shafts I would try if I were you...

I'm not a golf pro, but i call hogwash on the "swing speed isn't fast enough" comment.  The 915 is offered in enough lofts and with enough shaft choices that any competent fitter should be able to maximize anyone's performance.

I'm  sure Cathi or someone from Titleist will point you to a competent fitter in your area.

The US concierges can help you get in contract with the UK representatives/office. You should be able to get LH heads supplied to a local course for a fitting. I'm LH, 86-89 mph driver speed, and I don't agree with those staff members. If you're serious enough to work on swing faults, the AP1s are a great club to start. Since the 910/913/915 drivers are adjustable, there is enough correction that will help swing faults. There is only so much a club can do to correct a slice. The 915 D2 has been optimized for forgiveness across more of the face with a well placed MOI. No one beats Titleist for the range of standard available shafts. Usually Titleist and possibly png are the only LH clubs available in all the lofts available for RH golfers. For the serious, even if not overly talented golfer, there is no better choice.

Thanks to everyone for  your replies. I'll be  on the  lookout for left handed clubs coming in.

Various reviews rave about the 915 so I'm  looking forward to trying it out, and would like to  match my irons.

    Chris,

Thank you for your interest in the 915 driver. I just sent a message to our UK Customer Service Team. I copied you on my note and they should be reaching out to you shortly to help find the best place to get fit in your area. Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks

    Hi Will

Thank you for your  reply. It is great to deal with a company that cares for its customers. I have posted regarding the great experience  I  had with my irons fitting and the follow up to this query confirms what a great company Titleist is. Looking forward to  being able to demo the driver. I will be recommending Titleist company and products to everyone.

Once again thanks to Four Wiggle, Tony Mowbray and Don Our for taking the time to help and advise me.
