Anyone know how to buy the Titleist Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips that are black with the inlay colored red?  I see them in the fitting carts on the driver shafts.   Have only seen one driver for sale with that grip on it.  I love the black/red look and would love to game them on all my clubs.

    Thanks for any info.

Hi Mike, thank you for the question. Unfortunately those grips are used on "demo" and "trial" clubs only. We started using those to help our accounts keep better track of what is stock and what is for demo and fitting. At this time they are not available to purchase individually or with a club order. If you like the red/black colorway, the Golf Pride Multi Compound grip is offered in red/black and has been a very popular custom grip choice.

    Thanks

I concur. The Multi Compoud is the best grip Ive ever gamed!!  Have them on all clubs.
Blue and Black is my preferred colorway.

Can speak favorably of the Golf Pride Multi Compound grips. Have used them for years and they are great. I prefer the Midsize and always order them on my new Titleist clubs when fitted. Have the red/blacks on all my clubs. They clean well water and a wash clothe.

So if I bought a titleist driver that comes with this grip, does that mean it is a demo/trial club? IF so, what does that entail?

It just means that it has been used in a store or at demonstration days for prospective buys to try out.

Thats interesting because I bought it brand new in the wrapping. That being said, it was purchased on ebay. Must mean that the person I bought it from got it from a scramble or something and won it from some that Titleist had given away. All things considered, i love the black and red grip. It looks good and its one of few on the course.

I saw a 915 driver with this style grip for sale on Craigslist earlier today.  We called our local rep and he said it is now available for purchase.  I remember hearing what Will said, that is is for DEMO/ Fitting purposes to distinguish from regular stock offerings.  It is a very sharp looking grip, and if they offered more colors, it could be a huge seller for Golf Pride.  But I understand why and how Titleist is using it and it is very smart.

Hi Christopher,  The grip that we use for demo and trial sets is still not for sale - not sure if you meant to say "not" or "now" on your post :)

Thanks Cathi.  We got it all figured out today and found out that the item in question was actually stolen from a rep travelling through our town.  So we helped him get it back and hopefully put a crook behind bars for a while.  Our local rep thought we were talking about the Multi Compound red grip, so that is why he said it was available now.  We showed him the pic of what we meant and he said what we all said, that it was either stolen or somebody is up to shady business.

  12. Doesn't that somewhat defeat the purpose of doing a demo  .Isn't that what we demo the club for ?  I am currently looking for a new driver and the 915D3 is top of my list . Knowing now that you have misrepresented the club I was about to make a move on really disappoints me ! How can you put something out there that is not available to begin with . Don't you think your representatives should at least let the public know this information ? It is really misleading if you ask me . Every club I have ordered from a demo day has always been the same as the one I tested from grip to shaft to head . I hate to say it but this just proves the difficulty with titleist . It is a bit of false advertisement ,,, wouldn't you agree ?? Your letting me test what is not available ,, plain and simple ,,, Right ??? On your suggestion with golf pride multi compound grip ,,, those grips are junk  ,,, thats just how I feel which is why I don't use them . I bought them once and that was all I needed . Hope you can resolve this situation . Whoever came up with the idea with only available in demo and trial clubs only maybe in the wrong line of work . Wouldn't a simple sticker that says demo do the trick ?

Hello Steven, The demo grip that we use is exactly the same as our standard 360 Tour Velvet iron grip other than the red color.  It is strictly cosmetic.  The weight, dimensions, swingweight and size are the exact same so you should find no difference in the performance of the club. We use that grip to differentiate it so that it can be readily identified as a demo or Trial club when taking counts and gathering demos at fitting days..  As evidenced by Chris's previous post, the different grip was influential with catching someone that had "borrowed" a demo club.

I recently had all my clubs (913 Driver 3W, hybrid, 712 AP2s and SM5 wedges) regripped; used the GP tour velvet on all. I was really hoping to find that grip in a color other than the standard black,  but unfortunately, I guess GP doesn't have it available. But it sure would be a great idea for GP - I dont' really like the multi-compounds - they dont seem to have the life

I agree. I like the red, paint-filled Tour Velvet 360 grips, too. They feel great and they look great, too, distinctive. I use the MMC grips on my 58* wedge, great traction and feed back. Golf Pride and Titleist are you listening? Here is an idea, the MMC cord style on top (any color) and the black Velvet 360 on the bottom.

Besides the clubs with these grips being for trail or demo, are the clubs the same as stock clubs would be?  The only difference being the grip?

Yes, I have a set of AP1 714's that were demo/trial. They are the same, the six iron has a serial number. The grips are normal Golf Pride 360 tour velvet grips. They just have red paintfill.

I would also advise anyone to check for authorized retailers on the Titleist golf shop locator to make sure they are indeed authentic. I did and that's where I found certified used Titleist equipment.
