Cathi , Bubba or other TT ers. I have been researching various shafts for a new 915D2. My dilemma is that there is no fitter around and certainly not now, that will work for me. Would like to purchase in next few days. I think probably the Rogue Silver 60, but the more I read, I have become convinced, the Oban Devotion is the right shaft due to quick tempo/ transition. Help! Can anybody give me some insight having played both? Any info would be appreciated. BTW, I have hit the Rogue, but no one around me has the Oban to test...

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks for the post.

As you know, it is always best to hit both shafts before you buy. With that said, you are right about the Oban Devotion. It is a very stiff tip shaft designed for individuals who load the club and have a strong transition. It can help tighten the shot pattern for certain individuals. However, if you have hit the Rogue and it fit you well, I would urge you to go in that direction.

    Hope this helps.

When I went to my fitter I hit numerous shafts that Titleist offered and then some aftermarket shafts and the Aldila Black Rogue 70 stiff seemed to have the right numbers for me. This was after about an hour of hitting balls. Those numbers do not lie.

As all people say and its very much the right advice go see a Titleist fitter. they carry alot of shafts and you'll be able to find whats right for you. I do have an oban devotion shaft and it is a nice shaft. for me it spins alittle much and has alittle softer feel than i like. But thats because i usually play a fujikura ts shaft. as for over all the shaft is actually quite well and i do have alot success with it. you can over power the x-stiff equivilent of this shaft though. so deffinetly test it out.

cheers greens and fairways to all

Thanks for those who replied. Ideally I would have the time, and an advanced fitter nearby to try all the shafts out. Absent that, I am not sure I will spend extra for a shaft I have not had the opportunity to try. I am certain the stock shafts will be fine for a hack like me:)

Matt, I think the shafts are about performance and the individual. Not whether you are a hack or not. There are a lot of good players utilizing those stock shafts and throwing up some good results.

    Matt,

The upside is that you will always be able to buy a second shaft if you need it.

Hi Matt,  You can go to see Barry or Tyler over at Berry Hills CC.  They do have a monitor and a Surefit Cart system and will fit non members there.  If you let us know what Oban weight and flex, if we have that weight and flex here, we can get it there for your fitting.

Cathi, Thank you for your offer, but I followed Bubba's advice and placed an order for the Rogue silver 60. I tend to overthink the options availible ;). I just couldn't wait...it could be a month or more before I could arrange to hit that shaft outdoors here. I hit the rogue on the monitor already and the numbers worked for me...I am excited to have new 915 driver and fairway to start season!
