I just purchased today a set of 3-PW AP2 712's from Golf Galaxy which had a terrific deal on these.  It was their last set and the Irons were brand new.  Still had the protective wrap on the heads as well as the grips.

They were $400 cheaper than the 714's.  It was too good of a deal to pass up really.

My question is for anyone who has made the switch from the AP 2 712's to the 714's, is it worth such a big differential in price?

As FYI, I currently play off a 5 HDCP.

I am currently still playing Titleist 690CB's from 2002.  I absolutely love these sticks which is obvious since they have been in my bag for 13 years now.

I was looking to upgrade to more current technology, AP2 714's, but when I came across the wonderful deal for the AP2 712's, I thought this was a deal not to pass up.

Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated.

I was asking the fitter at my local golf shop about the 714 and 716 AP2s (some prognostication) and he said the basic difference will be a new look and some tungsten moved around a bit.

I'd hit both against a launch monitor (don't look at the results until afterwards) and see which one comes up with better numbers on the launch monitor. Let the numbers be your guide!

I am one that is into doing research as well.  Go to your search engine and type in Titleist 712 AP2 and you will find that there is a site under Titleist for that club.  Download the information and do the same for the 714 AP2 and do a side by side comparison.  I do this when new clubs are coming out before I go to a demo day, then a fitting and decide to pull the trigger.  Research, research, research. Bottom line is, Titleist is the best.......and their clubs are always an improvement.......just my two cents worth.....cz  :-)

I think you got a great deal!  The 714s fly a little lower in the higher lofted irons.  Maybe lightly  more forgiving... but those 712s are still really good with fresh grooves!
