I currently play Calloway X-Tour Irons 3-pw with DG S300 shafts.  I consistently shoot  82-84, and over memorial day I finally broke into the 70's with a 78!   It's my short game which keeps me from the low scores. I play every weekend and hit balls at the range 2-3 times per week.

I want to upgrade clubs and have my next set custom ordered from top to bottom.  I'm somewhat tunnel visioned on the 710 MB's and have hit the 6-iron on the range along side with the miz MP 68 6-iron.  I hit them both well but the 710 MB's are what I prefer visually.

This would be my first experience with true blades and I am wondering if this would be a wise decision.  I strike the ball well with these clubs and can absolutely feel any type of imperfection or miss hit off the face.  My concern is how well will I hit the other irons in the bag?  Can I assume that with some practice time I'll hit the longer irons just as well?

miz fit me for their MP68's with the following specs:

Head speed 93; Tempo 5; Toe down 3; Kick angle 5; Release factor 4

Lie angle 61, standard loft and length

    Shaft Options: DGX-100; Proj-X-6.5; KBS-X-Flex; Rifle 6.5

Can someone help me make sense of these numbers and offer me some words of wisdom or recommendations regarding my ideas on upgrading to the Titleist 710 MB Irons?

Also, I though about taking a trip to Oceanside facility to experience the Tour Fitting, any thoughts?

    Thank you for any input!

Your numbers are about even with the ones I registered  with regard to their analysis club for what it's worth.  Which, interestingly, is about where I was when I was first custom fit over 10 years ago.

Now, if you want to get into 710 MBs, you already know your answer: Go get fit and see how it comes out.

What you may find is a mixed bag of irons may suit you best, MBs for your 6-PW and CBs or perhaps AP2s for 3-5.  There is absolutely no shame in a mixed bag of irons as the enormous number of folks cashing pay checks playing golf every week will justify.

As for a trip to Oceanside... if you can somehow pack me in a bag along side you, I'm all for it ;)   Though in all seriousness, why not?  If it is something you want to do, I would say look into a full TPI evaluation and fitting.  You might come back with a new bag of sticks and a few pointers to consistently break 80.

I just got my 710mb's after 2 months on backorder and love them.  I got them with the Project X 6.5 shafts and they are sick, the ball flies really well off of them.  I hit those Mizunos and liked them but the Titleists, in my opinion, are a better club.  I played the titleist 690mb's up until getting these and I like the 710's considerably more.  Blades obviously take time to get used to when you first switch but they are totally worth it in the long run
