To answer your question about the 762 irons. They appear to be cavity back clubs. I unfortunately cannot answer your question about 716 being better than the 714 irons. Some have claimed similar performance between those 2 sets. What is the most important factor regarding what is the best club for you that matches your swing is highly dependant on many performance characteristic on how you swing the club. Factors such as your swing speed, centerness of hits, your height, angle of attack, ball flight characteristics due to your swing can only be determined by a trained fitter that has the proper equipment to measure these factors. They can also can provide advice as to equipment cost comparisons. It may cost you a little more money to pay a fitter the up front cost but the benefits to you long term are well worth the price of getting together with a certified Titleist club fitter. You will not regret making this decision. I cannot strees enough the importance of seeing a trained fitter to you or anyone who is considering getting a new set of sticks. Don't buy a set of irons off the rack just because you like their look. This can very well be an expensive mistake.

DCI's are cast cavity back. VERY good clubs, if the lie angle is fit for you. AP2's have a cavity, but are forged. GREAT irons, but so are the CB's....Tough choice...

First and foremost you need to get fitted. At said fitting they will tell you which clubs are best for you. Right now the PGA super store is advertising free fittings. If you have one near you I would go there.

I've tried way too many irons over the years and settled on 716 AP2s for the season. Do you have a handicap? That might give you a better place to start. I personally liked the 714s a lot, so you might find them used at a decent price. I'd recommend getting fit professionally of course, that might save you a lot of time in the long run. I went to a Titleist PGA fitter in my local area. I highly recommend that. He was very knowledgeable about all the Titleist products and it was a lot of fun geeking out about all things Titleist with him. Good luck!

Yeah those are some OLD irons but you gotta start somewhere right? IMO, get fitted by a certified Titleist fitter so you know what's best for you... Then go online and find some used one online.. You'll find something..
