I've been struggling off the tee in the early season. Been gaming 913 D3 w/ Diamana White 72 Stiff last two years.

A buddy gave me a 915 D2 w/ Aldila Rogue 70 Stiff to try out. He is no longer using it. I hit a few balls with it, but have not been able to really do an apples to apples comparison.

I typically need low spin driver head/shaft combos. Seems D2 would produce too much spin. But, I like the additional forgiveness potentially available.

Would love opinions or knowledge of the TT community: how does 913 D3 compare to 915 D2? I know shaft makes a big difference. But would love to hear any thoughts or first hand experience of performance comparisons you have seen.

    Thanks!

    Bragg Creek,

I never bought a 913 because I honestly didn't see much of a difference between it and the 910. That said, the 910D3 has been relegated to the back up bag. The only advantage the 910/913 has over the 915 is sound. The 915 sounds pretty awful for a Titleist driver, but once you see the spin numbers come down and the dispersion tighten up, you'll likely come over to the 915 camp pretty quickly. Don't buy into the hype that they're shorter either. Titleists come with a 45" shaft, not a 45-1/2 or 46". I have a 45-3/4" PL Red shaft and the 915 is very bit as long as any other driver on the market when I pop that bad boy in it (longer for me because the launch conditions are optimized). So all this talk of the 915 being the 'shortest' of the current offerings on the market is just plain false.

As a comparison, there really is no comparison in my eyes as far as launch monitor performance. The 915 outshone the 910 in every statistical category.

Hello Jay H. I'm a mid to upper handicapper. Only starting playing seriously about 2 years ago. I could never get out of the tee box. Now I can't wait for the next tee shot. The 915 D2 is so forgiving. I went through college on a basketball full ride. Somewhat athletic I suppose. But at 58 years old, I can still put it out there with a lot of youngsters. If that isn't enough, just look at the number one man in golf uses. Good luck,
    Play Well,
    Steve S.
  4. I have had both drivers and I would say the sound is very different at impact for both these clubs but also the spin is lower for the 915 D2 for me using Trackman.

You are right the shaft makes a huge difference...I use the same shaft with all my drivers over the last two years (I typically always have a D2 and D3 head in each model year).

    Good Luck!

There might be 100 others who will echo my statement, I had the 913 D3 for two years then switched to the 915 D3 and the improvements were fantastic. I almost didn't change because of how well I hit the 913 but I gained 15 yards and accuracy. After playing the new driver for two weeks I switched both my 3 metal and hybrid with the same success. get fitted and get them !

Thanks for the feedback and input guys! I put the Diamana White 72 in the 915 D2 head and adjusted to D-1 in the SureFit setting. Didn't have a Trackman or anything, but all evidence says spin came way down - ball flight looked much better, distance was great, and shot dispersion tighter. Might have found a winner!

Thanks guys and thanks to Titleist for making incredible equipment!
