  1. Fellow TT Members,

For my 30th birthday coming up later this summer my wife got me the best present I could ask for, new set of custom fit irons. My current set at the time was miz MP54s, but I had been interested in the new 716 AP2s. I went to one of my local Titleist Thursdays (a great idea by Titleist by the way) here in Dallas, TX and was fit by one of the reps. After approximately an hour of trying different head shaft combinations we finally settled on a set make up of 716 AP2s 5-P with KBS C-taper stiff shafts 1/2 inch short (I'm 5'8 on a good day) and 1 degree flat. It was also recommended to me to ditch the 4i and try one of the 816 hybrids. Well, I did and settled on an 816 H1 21 degree with Mitsubishi rayon 70g shaft.

My new irons and hybrid arrived at my golf shop yesterday and my PGA pro called to let me know they were in. I took them straight to the range and was immediately rewarded for my decision. The flight of these irons is amazing, and with the 1/2 inch shorter shaft I'm finding the sweet spot with (almost) every swing. Even the mishits still fly great. I'm easily the a 1/2 to 1 club longer compared to my mizzys. The hybrid is amazing as well flies long and high, much better than I could hit my old 4 iron.

All of that to say I am glad that I made the switch to Titleist and look forward to converting the rest of my bag to all Titleist products in the future. If you're considering make the switch, DO IT! Well worth the money and get out to one of the Titleist Thursday events in your area its a chance to try all these great products for free in a no pressure environment. Thanks Titleist, you have a new convert for life.

    Stephen

I made the switch from cally and I'm never going back. I agree titleist irons are butter. I play the ap2s and I get distance and shot shaping control while still being able to hold greens like a true forged iron. Also, if you haven't already, try out a Scotty Cameron putter. They're far superior into anything else out there

    I play 714 AP2's (3-W S300 shafts) and Vokey 56, 915D3 (9.5 with Rogue shaft) and 915F, 3 & 5 along with a Scotty Cameron Futura X5. I recently switched out my 3 & 4 for 816H1 21 & 23 (set-up to 24 degree) with Rogue shafts and the control is amazing.

You made a great decision to go with Titleist!

Those 816 H1 hybrids are incredible, I've lowered my HC 3 strokes since April, and I believe they are 80% responsible, the other 20% are the 3 SM6 wedges I put in play about the same time.

I just got a Scotty Cameron last week. I will probably change out to the 917 driver and FW when they hit the market.

irons will probably have to wait until next spring, as I just put a new set in the bag in January. Wishing now I had tried the AP1 first.
