I would say yes, but you should see your local pro for a fitting.
I'm a high handicapper and I play AP1(714) and just love them. Very forgiving on miss hits.

If your gonna buy Titleist the Ap1 would be a good club for you. But there are several shafts so go see a qualified fitter at an out door facility. Those indoor ranges are not all equal. Some make any shot hit look tour quality.
You may also consider some lessons over the winter. The Duff's are not the clubs falt.

Strongly recommend you see a PGA certified teaching pro about signing up for a series of lessons before you even think about getting new clubs. If you are 45 handicap (USGA does not recognize anything higher than a 36) then instruction is what you need most. It's the best decision you can make at this point.

I second what Dennis said above. Please do get professionally fit for these (or any) clubs.
Check the Titleist Thursdays program, too. Just got 716 AP1s through that program and love them.
If you have a distance issue, this is Titleist's "distance" iron, but they are more than that.

I think first you should get fitted by your local professional fitter and they'll be able to get you in to the right clubs for your swing. It's important to get the right clubs & shafts to help you lower your score & handicap.

I currently play the 716 AP1's up from the 712's. Love both sets. I went from a S300 to an R300 and my iron play has improved dramatically.

But if it is the AP1's they fit you with, I am sure you'll love them.

I have 716 AP2s only because I dislike how large the heads and top line on AP1s are. I have hit AP1s and they are long & forgiving. Mainly they are long because they are stronger. If I hit the equivalent in my AP2 it's about the same maybe a little longer. Great clubs for game improvement!

I am a 15 handicap and use the AP1's and think they are the best club out there. But then again like what was stated before GET FITTED. This will take the guess work out of your clubs. Good luck and hit um straight.

I agree totally with Dennis, you really need to see a fitter to see what works best for you, for a professional can help you more than we can. Need to check with you handicap club on that handicap. If you are a beginner, some lessons from you local pro will make golf more fun.

I have to agree, Get Fitted. I was recently fitted for and purchased a set of 716 AP1's and have dropped 10-15 strokes from my game. Some of it is lessons but a good portion of it is the AP1's. I was amazed at the extra distance, feel and forgivness of the club. Spend the time and money to get fitted. You'll be glad you did. T.
