I've been playing my 690.CB irons for about 5 years now. I was thinking about buying a new set of AP2's, but then the new CB came out and it looks identical to what I have.

What are the differences and if they are slight, would there be some advantage to the AP2 irons I haven't enjoyed with the 690.CB irons up to now?

    Thanks,

    Dennis

The 690CB irons are very similar to the new 710 CB irons.  The 710's have a softer look to them, the toe is a little rounder and the longer irons have a slightly wider sole.  This provides the CB's with a little lower center of gravity.  The other difference is that the 710's are 1° stronger than your 690CB irons.

If you are looking for a little more forgiveness in your irons, the 710 AP2's are a little larger than the 710 CB's and will be more forgiving.  The ball flight will be slightly higher with the AP2 irons, but you can bring that down by bending the lofts 1° strong.

All in all, the CB's will play very similarly to your current 690's and the AP2's will be more forgiving.
