I realize this may be like asking "how high is up"; however, how often do you change your grips? I know there are many variables - how often do you play, sweaty hands etc., but in general. I'm new to golf and got new AP1s last Aug with golf pride MCC plus grips put on, and they seem to be getting a little slick feeling. Time for new ones?

I usually do 1-2 times per year. I practice a lot in the summer, so the ones that get a little extra wear I will for sure do twice, but the others depend on the condition.

I change tham between 3 and 4 times a year. I may even do an odd club more often if it gets a lot of use.

Driver and wedges usually get changed 3-4 times a year, and everything else at least twice a year. More if necessary. I play between 125 and 150 rounds and also practice most days, mostly short game. I scrub my grips with light soap and water and a thorough rinsing every couple weeks. This gets rid of most of the trapped oils. I use Golf Pride New Decade MCC grips.

I used to regrip my clubs once a year but a friend of mine told me to scrub the grips with Lava soap and a stiff bristled brush. Works good. Brought back that new tacky grip feeling.

I just did mine to get ready for the season. I may change them in the mid-late summer depending on how much play I get to do. With the rotten winter we had this year, and a rough chemo treatment last summer, I didn't get my mid-season change in last year. Saved a little money....

3-4 times during the year. Depends on how much I practice. Once they seem "smaller" in my hands, I change.

Usually a couple of times per year, and Driver 3 times. I find the key is to clean them well every couple of weeks .

I change my grips once a year. But I clean them all the time! At least wipe them with a damp towel after every round. About every 4 times clean them with mild detergent and towel dry them. But I don't play as much as you guys. About one round every two weeks.

I regrip all my clubs every year in the off season. (January) Usually regrip the Driver halfway through the season also. (July) During the golf season I will scrub down my grips every few weeks with soap and water. That gets rid of the "slick" feel on the grips caused by sweat and use.

2 - 3 times/yr. whenever they lose their tackiness and soft feel. I go with Golf Pride Tour Velvets because it is much more affordable to change them out. Multi-compounds are nice but expensive if you change out 3 times in a year.
  12. I prefer yearly, but I also clean the grips (Golf Pride Tour Wrap) monthly. I use Dawn blue detergent. I play 4-5x a week in Oregon.

Thanks everyone, sounds like it's time for new grips. Now I need to decided to say with the Golf Pride MMC Plus, or try something else....
