Depends on your swing. Do you go steep and dig or shallow and sweep is the real question. Once you establish your type of wedge swing then I would go to the Vokey website and read about the different letter grinds that will explain how it will benefit you. Wish I could just say k grind but hope it helps!

Rearding the Bounce, it is more about the condition of the golf course you normally play at. Is the ground hard, soft or a little bit of both?
Hard turf = LowerBounce
Soft turf = Larger Bounce
Allaround Bounce is about 10 deg.

If you are a beginner probably 10 deg Bounce. If in doubt, my recomendation is wedgefitting!

Suggest that you go for a free wedge fitting when the Titleist Thursday fittings are resumed in May. They can put you in the right club. And remember, they are free, and they will do it right.

My current setup is SM5 48-08, 54-10S, 58-11K and SM4 62-07T. Odd thing is I had an SM5 60-04L and found the 62-07 was a bit easier to hit off hardpan ground and sand.

In general, high handicappers have MORE bounce in their wedges to prevent them from digging in.

Here in North Texas with the hard turf I try to play as little bounce as possible. Definitely hurts me when it rains...

Updated: SM5 48-08 and 54-10S (bent to 55), SM6 62-08 M grind. I play a wide variety of conditions. The 54 and 62 work both on soft and hard lies.

I would say 90 percent of my short game is with a sand wedge. Historically, 55-11 has worked fine for ages. I had an SM4 54-11M I carried for 4 years and it seemed to work. When I upgraded wedges I went to an SM5 54-10S and it is much better for chipping.

L grind is a bit deceiving. If you put a 62-08 M grind next to a 60-04 L grind, the latter looks like the leading edge has more bounce. I actually have a much easier time with the M grind on hard sand vs the L grind.

T grind worked for me also. I carried a 64-07 for about 3 years. The 62-07 SM4 was pretty good out of hard sand.
