I want to change the length of my 917 driver. It is currently 45 3/4" long. i want it to be 45".

I currently have a 10 gram fade/draw weight in the head. The shaft is 60 gram. Standard grip (52 grams).

If I cut the butt to reflect a 45" overall length, what weight should I use to make the swingweight D-2?

The current swingweight is D-0. I know it will be heavier, just not sure if it is 2 or 4 or ??? grams heavier.

The head weight (without the shaft obviously) and with the 10 gram weight inserted, is 195.27 grams.

If you shorten the club by 3/4" the swingweight will go down by approximately 4-5 points. Somewhere around C5-C6 if you don't add weight to the head.

To bring that C5-C6 back up to D0 would require an additional 8g or so of weight added to the head. So whatever weights you current use. That's approximate but it will be somewhere in the 7, 8, 9, 10g range.

Each 1/4" of length in a driver causes about a 1.5 point change in swingweight. And each point of swingweight is equivalent to slightly less than 2g of weight in the head (for a driver, sometimes slightly different for irons).
