I have played both 915 and 917 drivers at a playing length of 44.5. Since 44.5 is 1/2 inch short of stock I've consistently added weight to the head by changing the weight to maintain the swing weight as close to the "standard" as possible. If I put my current shaft in a TS driver what weight should I request?

It is not really possible to answer your question with the information provided. I would suggest that when you order your TS driver you tell Titleist what the exact shaft spec (make, model, length, weight) you plan to use and have them weight the head to get to a specific swingweight.

The TS series drivers come stock with 45.5" shafts, so with your 44.5" shaft you will need to adjust the weights for the 1" difference. It's impossible to suggest what weight to install since we don't know what the weight of your current shaft & grip is compared to the shaft & grip you will be replacing.

My current shaft is a Mitsubishi Diamana BF-Series 60 S-flex, so the shaft is listed at 66 grams.

I don't always use the same grip but it's always a standard grip from golf pride so approx 52 grams (maybe a touch more if I add extra tape to build it up)

As I mentioned with the 917 this playing length is 1/2 inch short and therefore I changed the surefit weight to add 2 grams. If I'm recalling correctly the stock weight in the 917 driver was 12 gram and so I moved up to the 14 gram. with this set up the driver swing weights right at about D4.

As was mentioned earlier, the standard length in the TS series is 45 1/2 and so this playing length would be a full inch rather than only 1/2 short of standard. I'm assuming I would need to add at least 4 grams or maybe even 6 grams to the head to achieve the proper swing weight.

This is correct according to the Surefit table. -1" from stock TS driver length would require the blue +4 gram weight to maintain standard swing weight.

Check out the "Surefit Weight Options" section of the Surefit page on Titleist. Note that standard length in the TS line drivers is 45.5" vs 45" of previous models.

The blue +4 gram weight is what was spec'd by Titleist in my fitting for my driver playing at 44.75.

    Hope that helps.

You must first determine the swing weight you wish to use in your driver. Some like their drivers to swing weight out heavier than others. Once you determine your exact swing weight you want then you need to determine the swing weight of your driver. If it too light or too heavy you can change the swing weight by adding or taking away the weights installed in the driver head. Every two grams of weight equals one swing weight.
