I went to order my 910H today after hitting the 19* with the Kai'li stiff shaft. I liked the 19* (210-220 yds) but i feel like a 17* will fit my game better because I dont hit my fairway woods to often and i was looking for a safe club to tee up on sort par 4's or on my 2nd shot on a par 5. I then realized that the Kai'li is not a standard shaft that comes with the 17* hybrid and i hit the 'ahina and i do not like the feel of that shaft compared to the Kal'li. I am an A1 setting.

Would you order the 17* with a "custom" Kai'li shaft or get a 19* with the stock Kai'li shaft and change the setting to D1 and make it a 18.25*?

I am trying to get the most distance out of the hybrid which is why i want a 17* over a 19*. Do you think paying extra is worth it (money is a little bit of a concern) or do you think there will not be a huge difference in distance between the 17* and 18.25*? I know that the 17* shaft is 1/2" longer too.

Please don't say "get fitted" because i work at a major golf retailer and i know how to fit people. We do not have a 17* head in our fitting cart to hit which is why i am asking this question.

    Thanks for your help!

Have you not tried the 910f 17deg? If it is all about distance it will be longer than the rescue and I am sure the Kal'li shaft is standard.  RC will link you to a recent fitting where the player wanted a long rescue and left with a 910f 17deg.  I am carrying a 909f3 18 deg at the moment while waiting for my 910f and 910h to arrive and think it is the perfect combination of loft, ease of use and distance.

I feel that i am to inconsistent with fairway woods so i usually go driver then long iron on par 5's and have a short wedge shot into the green. i never go for par 5's in 2. i score better by keeping the ball in play. i do hit hybrids well and that is why i want to get a hybrid that i can maximize for distance. Basically i own fairway woods but i dont hit them so getting another fairway wood would be pointless for me.

The Titleist Kaili is a standard shaft, so there is not  an upcharge.

If you are talking about the non-Titleist branded Kaili, you can tip the Titleist Kaili and have the exact same shaft.  Cathi may have the tipping protocol but I believe it's still 1".

I would think a drop in spin rates of 200-500 RPM will produce more of a driving shot, which would be better for off the tee. You could still order it at 19* standard length as well if shaft length is a concern.

NO you cannot order the Titleist Kai'li shaft stock in a 17* hybrid, you can in a 19* hybrid but not 17*. It is considered a custom shaft as you can see in the 910 Hybrid Brochure.

    What would you suggest?

The brochure must be wrong, I went and checked the B2B (acushnetgolf.com)  It's ready to roll at a standard whole sale price.  Triple check with 888-Titleist ...Cathy and Nick will confirm.

It is a custom order to put the Titleist Kai'li in a 17°, but there is no upcharge and a custom build like that will only take a couple of days.
