Jerry,
I am 33, left-handed, 9 handicap, and hit a 7 iron about 160. I chose to go with the ap1's earlier this year. They are not your typical game improvement irons. My previous set was Titleist DCI's with the gold dot. I can tell you that the first time I used my ap1's I shot my best round ever. Now I am also playing more consistently. I have heard many people say that they can't work the ball with the ap1's. I do not work the ball very much but I have been able to draw or fade the ball with no problem when the shot called for it. I think you will be very pleased with the ap1's. I certainly am. The ap1's provide plenty of feel and forgiveness and I am glad I went with them. You should hit both before making a decision as every golfer is different.
Hope that helps!
