    Hi all,

I just upgraded my driver from 905T to 910D3, wood from 980F to 910F, irons (i3+) to 710 CB, and vokey wedges.  It seems I've owned most of my old clubs since 2004-2005 ish and just changed to new clubs.  But somehow I feel like I'm gonna stick to my beloved Scotty Cameron Studio Design 5 putter.

So, now I am wondering how often do ppl change their clubs?  More often for drivers? irons? do people stick with a putter for long time if they really love it?

    What are ya'lls thoughts?

ill change my driver every 2 or 3 years depending on how much i like it. ill change my irons every 2 years when titleist come out with a new set unless i absolutely love them and wont give them up.but my putter i will never change, had it for 2 years and it is not leaving probably for another 10!

Since I love my 905T, I'll stay with it, but upgraded (for me) from 962s to 695MBs, 3-pw.  My 2 iron is a 695CB.  Sacraficed a bit on distance, but very workable irons.  I think the driver is the first upgrade most players turn to.  I did add Vokey wedges and really like them.

    Good Luck with your upgrade

I have had the same old DCI 990's for over a decade, had a Cvld wedge even longer than that, and a Trimetal for evern longer than all of them, but that said I'm in the works of a complete bag overhaul.  New everything, Titleist everything...

I don't plan on buying new clubs for a long time. Minus putters.

For some reason (many reasons) I just love Scotty Cameron putters.  I own several, and I really like to buy ones that are in rough shape, clean them up, and game them.  I've found if my putting goes south for a round, I'll switch up sticks and be good to go.

I have changed my driver out the last two seasons just cause I haven't found one that truly matched until I got my 910D2 last Nov. I liked my 909D2 but there just something missing and the 910 has everything I was looking for so I plan on hanging on to it for a long time. My AP1 irons I've had for 3 years now and just love how they feel and don't plan on replacing them until they are worn out. My Scotty Cameron Newport Studio Select 2 I have no plans on changing it out. My wedges I change out when the grooves get worn out, but my 3 Vokey Wedges I got last year are great they are the CC models and are really responsive. But I have found that once you find something that works to hang on to it as long as you can. So I don't see me switching out any of my clubs for a long time.

    I will upgrade this year from a 905T to a 910D3.

Upgraded 690mb's to AP2's last year.

Change out Vokeys every year or so depending on the wear.

Have had my Scotty for 5 years and have no plans on replacing it.

3 wood and hybrid are both Titleist clubs and fit my game perfectly, so no changes planned.

    T. Tiger,

Just wondering how you liked the change from the 690mbs's to the ap2's? Ive been using the 690mb's for about 7 years now and recently purchased the cb710's. I was between the ap2s and the cbs. Thought the ap2's might have been just a tad more game improvement than I would of liked. Just wanted to get your thoughts on how much of a change it was. Thanks

I seem to be upgrading my irons every 3 years or so, I just switched to the AP1s and really like them. I might own these for a long time.

My driver is a different story. I average around 200 yards off the tee, but I am continually searching for an extra 10 or 15 yards. I used 4 different drivers last year, including the 909D Comp, but I am using something else now and plan to keep it this year.

I just upgraded my wedges to Cleveland's CG14s, 52* ,56*, and 60*. The sixty degree in my bag had been there for 20 years before I changed. If Titleist would have had their Vokeys on sale, I probably would have switched to them.

Putting is the best part of my game, and I rarely change putters. That being said, I switched from the Detour 2 to a Studio Select 1.5, in September, and my putts per green went from 1.8 down to 1.6. Obviously, I won't be switching that for a while.

Overall, I enjoy trying new clubs as a hobby, and if it improves my game so much the better. The only store I really shop at besides grocery stores is Golf Town, which I frequent at least once a week.

I upgrade my clubs when the grooves become worn.  That means that roughly every 2-3 years the wedges are traded in for new ones, and the irons go for 5-7 years (or longer).  One tip - keep the clubs clean.

As for putters, I tend to tinker with them a lot.  I will try all sorts of putters so I hopefully have 1 that is better on slower greens (mallet style), and 1 on faster (blade style).  Right now I have a Guerin Rife 2-bar hybrid mallet, and a Scotty Monterey heavy blade.

For a long time I was playing Ping. I decided 2 years ago that I would change to Titleist. I went out and bought my AP1 710's custom fit. Then switched to 50,56,60 Vokey's. In November bought the 910D3 Driver. This past weekend bought the 19deg 910 Hybrid. I couldn't  switch my putter. Scotty is too expensive! I would mostlikey change out my irons if there is a big difference in feel with the new Titleist irons coming out...
