Hi all, just debating on which new irons to buy, the AP1s OR AP2s? i am an 18 handicap golfer but this is mainly due to an inability to drive or putt!! in general my ball striking with my irons is pretty good, i have a couple of friends who play off 11 and 12 and my irons are pretty much on a par with them, just let myself down in other areas. currently have a set of big bertha 08s, but feel one of these sets may benefit me more?  any thoughts at all?

I picked up the AP1s last month and have had them out at least a dozen rounds. I have not played the big berthas but, the AP1s hit like a dream. I draw the ball pretty well with them. The ball seems to leap off the club and flies a lot higher than my old clubs. I have the 4 thru Gap Wedge and I am going to get the 3 iron. I cannot believe how these feel when hit correctly. Like you I wondered about the AP2s but decided my game still needs a little forgiveness and that is why I went with the AP1s. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

if your ball striking is decent and you want a more compact head , go with the ap2's. but since you play bertha's you might want  the ap1's so that the change is more seemless and easier to adjust to

    Hi James,

I would suggest you go with the AP1. I bought the AP1 a couple of years ago to replace a set of Pings and I haven't looked back. These irons are amazing. I'm a 10 handicap (looking to improve that this coming season). And the AP1's are a perfect fit for my game. Although I do suggest the AP1's, I would also suggest you see a professional and get fit. Try both. You never know you might like the AP2's more. Either way, you would not be disappionted!!

    JUst my thought's... Good luck!

It sounds like the AP1's would fit your game better.  But like was stated above, get fitted and make an informed decision.  It might be a good idea to get fitted for a Driver and wedges also.
