    Hi Guys,

    I recently purchased the 910 D2 Driver 9.5 with a Proforce V2 76g 2.1Torque Stiff Flex shaft.

I have played a few rounds on the neutral setting A1 but have been rather inconsistent with direction(majority of the time high left) and have been hitting rather high. My swing speed is between 118-125mph and I play off a 6.

Would I benefit from going down to the D1 setting as I normally like to hit a soft draw with my driver and should I purchase a different shaft option for the driver?

I know this is a rather broad question but any advise would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Adrian

    Adrian,

Read RC's 5 minute driver fitting at www.mygolfperformance.com It has some good tips for finding the right driver

118-125 swing speed is moving it.  Have you ever hit an x flex?  With a swing speed that high the shaft may feel unstable or whippy.  I think if you keep the same specs and just move to an x flex you would see a lower ball flight, less spin and smaller dispersion.

Many of the fit carts are now coming with a few x flex shafts in them.  Try and find one that has them and give it a shot.

My ball speed is approx 175 or so and I use a D3 w/ a Diamana Whiteboard 72gm x flex.  While getting fit I was hitting a stiff flex and experienced many of the same things as you.  Try it out and good luck.

    Hey Josh

Thanks for all this info, very helpful!

I am going to purchase another shaft extra stiff from the same brand and give it a go.

Could I ask why you went for the D3 rather than the D2? I have read up on both but as far as I understand it's just a "looks" thing more than a link with one particular kind of player, am I correct in saying this?

    Cheers

i know im alittle late weighing in on this, but i just wanted to answer your second quistiong being im a high swing speed guy that chose the d3. My decision was made during a fitting. I had better contact with the d3 and my spin rate was actually lower. Im rocking an 86g X-stiff.

I would highly recommend a move to the flat side of the chart...so, C-1, B-1 should help the pulls.

    Let us know what happens!

Ryan,  I agree but don't you think with a SS of 118-125 he should definitely be hitting a x-flex.

Possibly, or a shaft with more torque.  Since he has already invested in a combo,  I wanted to play with the options first and save him the money.

Hey I also have the D2 but I have a Adila RIP Shaft. But i noticed that my ball was starting to go left so i switched the setting to B-1. This made the ball flight start in the middle left of the fairway and come back to the center. So if you want the ball to a lower flight and to stop going left then put it on D-1.

    Hi Michael

Thank you for your advise, I've played 9 holes with it on the D1 setting which seemed to straighten me out so I am going to stick with it!

    Thanks

    Hi Adrian,

I had roughly the same problem as you regarding my 910 D2 when I just purchased it. My setting is at A1 too, but I found that the face was not at a "square" position. It looked slightly "closed" and my ball flight tended to go left. Soon after that I went to my club fitter because I wanted to change the shaft. When I got the driver back from him, I found that the clubface was more "square" rather than "closed".

So could it be when they installed the shaft in the factory, there was some slight error to it? Whatever it is, I suggest you take yours to your club fitter and have it checked. After I had mine done, the D2 is a beauty! Easily the best driver I have ever used.

    Zain
