If all things are equal, and your spin rate is below 2800rpm, then you shouldn't have any problems.  Do you have any specific numbers? That will give us a better picture.

Sorry to leech on your thread.

But im using a 10.5 D2 Kai'li Regular. Getting decent to slightly high trajectory. My settings on the driver is the lowest loft that i can go. My spin rate is kinda high. ranging 3000-4500. losing alot of roll on the drive. I do get my drives out to 290yds on good hits. avg around 250-260yds.

Would you guys recommend 9.5 D2? or 10.5 D3? what abt the shaft? Kinda interested in Fubuki series shaft. But never got a chance to try them out.

In my experience, seeing a variance like that means the shaft isn't right, and there's too much loft.  I would probably try something a little stiffer with 8.5/9.5 loft in a D3 until we get your spin rate below 3000rpm.  I would also need to know your ball speed.

Ok, very nice.  If you max ball speed is 150mph, then you need a driver that spins 2800rpms or less, regardless of launch.  My goal would be to get the spin down first, then see how high we can get it. 10-12 launch like you said earlier would work nicely.

Here's a cool chart with your ball speed we would use as a guide:

  8. launch angle was 10 to 12 with the d2 and 10 to 13 with d3 distance was bout same 225 carry with 250 distance to 260

  9. im pretty much a straight player i dont like shaping the ball i like to hit it down the middle each time. just seems like many people r going with the d3

  10. Apologies for also latching on to this post. I have been in the market for a new driver and tried both the D2 and D3. Both are excellent drivers with the D3 more workable but slightly shorter than the D2. I found the selection of the shaft and bit more of a challenge. I am from South Africa and stock availability is sometimes a problem. I found that the Ahina brought my swing speed down and that the Kaili launched the ball too high with hookspin. I have now settled on the RIP. I have done all my testing on the A1 setting and must say I found the fitting chart confusing - the mails on this site added to the confusion - apologies to the writers of those posts. Therefore could you please assist with a recommended setting or settings - here is my average numbers with the D2 RIP setup - Carry 273 yards, Total 283 yards, lateral 1.4, club speed 105mph, ball speed 157mph, smash 1.48, back spin 2216, side spin -413, launch vert 16.1, launch hor 3.8r, descent 39.1, height 35, flight 6.9 sec, push/draw flight. I have a tendence to overdo the in-to-out swing (12-14 degrees). Thanks and congratulations on a great product!!

I find these numbers to be pretty good!  You might launch it a little high, but pretty good.  What's the loft of the driver you are using?

  12. 9.5 degree set at A1. Thanks for the compliment.
