AP1 Shaft Recommendation

    Greetings everyone!

    I really torn on what shaft to get in a set of new Titleist AP1 710.  I have been playing the original AP1 with regular flex DG HL shafts and have grown frustrated with the high ball flight and very "whippy" feel of the shaft.

    My average 6 iron swing speed is in the low to mid 80s.  I have a pretty smooth swing from take away to follow through. I am seeking a mid trajectory, more penetrating ball flight.

    Was thinking about the KBS or Project X shafts.  Or...avoiding any upcharge...the Tri Spec shaft.  The Tri Spec seems to have almost the exact same specs as the KBS.    I had the Tri Specs in my old DCI 962s and I was satisfied with them.

    Any thoughts on the matter?

    And...just wondering....are the Tri Spec shafts made by True Temper?

    Both the KBS, Rifle (regular and PX) are designed for a higher ball flight. You can get a lower ball fight with True Temper DG shafts. Slightly heavier, but that can be adjusted with clubhead weighting. Your clubs are most likely tip weighted. A good clubmaker can maintain swing weight and static weight for you.
