I went and got fitted with Titleist Monitors on Saturday. I play 695 MB's, 1/2" long, 2 degrees upright, with x100 shafts. They told me that Everything checked out and the only change I might consider is to go to a std head, but don't necessarily need to. My question is, is there any big change from my 695 mbs to the newer 710 mbs?

Also, the NEW 910 D2 is amazing. I hit the ball 300+, but it did give me 10-15 more yards. I dont necessarily need that extra yardage.

I am having a hard time justifying new sticks when mine sound like they are fine. If you have any selling points, I am ready to listen! Thanks!

If you hit everything fine, why consider changing? Unless you just want to buy something new to try, I doubt you'll see much change iron wise.

  3. Man I am confused. I have read so many discussions and Blogs and I dont know how every man in the street hit the ball 300+. I play of a 2 hdcap and have played below that. I my clubs team I am considdred on of the longest hitters and the teams we play against, I am always longer than most when playing against other clubs. My SS is 105 to 107 and I play a D3 with Project X 6.5 flex and my consistant distance is 285 to 295. with wind from behind 300+. so to get to my point, dont buy the D2 if you dont need the distance. I have a D3 910, a FT Tour and a MP 600 ( 3 year old club with Accra Dimarch shaft) and the distance between the 3 .... 0. however, the one that give me the most consistant distance and controll is the D3. So, buy the club or play with the one that gives you the best performance as difined by yourself. If you want to be like Phil who hit it 300+ and play from long grass, than that is your goal. Mine, I rather play from the short stuff, dont't need more distance if it means " gee thats a long drive, pity it is in the pond, or in the bunker or the bush. what killed Casey in the Open in 2010??? Distance, past weekend, what did DJ achieve with his massive drives on the par 5's? Rest my case.

"Honey I just got the tax refund and this purchase will help the economy of the entire nation"

"Soon all courses will be 8000y and I need every yard I can get"

"These old irons will make a good backup set"

"There have been rumors of the sell of Titleist, I better get new clubs now"

Or do like I do, just order the clubs put them in the bag and when she notices, swear they have been there for years.

I'm off Mar 28 - Apr 1 Cinci would make a good meeting place. Kings Island used to be a nice course, been many years since I've played it.

    Jarrod,

As for your 695 MB's, if the faces and grooves are still in good shape then there really is no need to get a new set of irons. There are minor differences (shape) between the 695 & 710 MB blades but nothing dramatically different.

As for the driver, I would seriously consider the new 910 drivers. They are awesome, as you found out while testing one.  The adjustability of the club, sound, looks, and overall longer distance are just a few reasons to buy one.  Best of Luck!
