Has anyone recently purchased these irons?  I went for a professional fitting a week ago and was thinking the AP 2 was the club I wanted and was going to be fit for but the CB was a better fit for me based on lauch angle, ball speed & spin rate.  Looking for feedback from anyone who plays this iron and tell me about them.  I want and need some forgiveness in an iron for my misses and hoping the misses don't travel too far off line.  I currently play a blade (png S59) and sometimes feels like I'm swinging a tire iron on a 4 iron miss hit!  Is the club good at getting the ball out of the rough?   It's been 7 years since I switched clubs.  Any info is appreciated.  Just want to make sure I'm not making a mistake in this purchase.

    Thanks!

    Greg,

An option to consider is to go with a combo AP2/CB set.  Possibly go with AP2's in the longer irons & CB's in the shorter iron range.  Many of the tour players are going with combo sets and accomplished amateurs as well.  You have the forgiveness in the longer irons that your looking for and the workability in the shorter irons.  Just an idea to think about based on your preferences in an iron set.  FYI, I play a combo set make up of 3 - 6 iron CB's & 7 - PW MB's.  Best of Luck!

    Hi Greg,

I recently got some CB's as part of my CB/MB combo set and I've gotta say they are very forgiving, the CB long irons I have are much more forgiving that those I had in my Titleist 990's. I am a good long iron player, and not so good with hybrids (that's why I don't have one!), but I really have no trouble getting them out of the rough. As the other poster said you could go combo set, but I'd strongly reccomend trying to hit the long irons of each AP2 and CB before you decide.

All the best with your decision, you'll have great clubs whatever you choose,

    Dan

    Dan,

thanks for the info and feedback.  I appreciate it.  I've decided on the CB.  I was fit for them and was hoping to get some feedback on these clubs since I went into the iron fitting thinking the AP 2 was the club for me but it wasn't and never hit the CB before the fitting.  I hit them again today at the range and loved it.
