  1. As walker my whole life I’m now contemplating a push cart. Wouldn’t have been caught with one in the 90s when I started playing but it seems acceptance and the science behind their use has changed. What’s a good one to get and is there a support group for those that grew up hating these? Thanks!

I did the Clic Gear to be an excellent choice. I made the switch maybe 8 years ago and haven’t looked back. I will still occasionally carry, but it is nice to have the option of using a push cart.

ClicGear is very good, but I imagine most of the brands available are good. Sorry, but no support groups that I'm aware of.

Have been a member of the push cart family for a number of years and I highly recommend Clicgear. Very reliable, lightweight and great customer service. Great color selection and accessories to meet your needs. I gave mine away to my boss this year because walking is no longer an option for me due to medical issues. I still play three days a week but on a riding cart. Sure miss my clicgear and the walks. They require a little patience at first to learn to open and close but are a breeze after the tutorial. Do not settle for less, get the very best. With respect. =)

Virtually all of our Canadian snowbird members use push (or some say pull) carts. Most of our other members who walk carry their bag. Kind of funny.

I've read it's a regional thing. Here in the PNW, you see a lot of folks pushing a cart. I've used one off and on since 2000. My current Speed Cart was purchased in 2004 and I've used it a lot. The Clicgears are cooler looking, but my Speed Cart has been great and Sun Mountain has sent me parts for free over the years.

My fellow golfers I play with all have Clic-Gear. Seem easy to push. I use a Tour Trek I purchased a while ago at Golfsmith.

I was never a fan of the push cart....until I got older (60+). Not sure how old you are but at some point if you continue to play golf, you will probably start riding or pushing. I enjoy walking a lot and if it means I use a push cart then so be it. I use Clic Gear push carts and I like them!! Dependable and sturdy so far, lots of accessories.
I would ask around and see what everyone else is using. I believe there is a thread somewhere on this site about push carts. Good Luck and please keep walking for as long as you can.

Don't be suckered into those support groups. It's just a gimmick to get your green fees. Try the self help method - slow deep breaths and tell yourself it's only to help carry a few beers while playing.
I grew up carrying my bag unless I was on a course where carts were mandatory. Started opting for a cart at about age 35. Always looked at the push cart as a sign of elderly golfers who couldn't afford a cart fee. Then I got older!!! Walking is a great way to keep in shape and stay loose on the course in colder weather. Had a cheap push cart for a few years but I got the Clicgear 4.0 when they started limiting carts due to the covid. Good heavy duty push cart. Not ready for the motorized ones yet.

Why not save your back and shoulders? And you can carry for hydration and snacks, I put ego aside years ago! I use the Stewart Golf Follow cart... Thats the ultimate in 'laziness', I just walk!

I got an "R2D2" remote control one about 11 years ago. Not that I love pushing buttons to drive it around, but I do love just walking along down the fairway with the clubs riding along without having to carry or push them. Using a Bat Caddy but with a Mid Staff Titleist bag. If the bag is too light it's harder to control the "R2D2" being so light.

I've had a few and you can't go wrong with Sun Mountain or ClicGear. Right now, I'm using a ClicGear 3.5 (current model is 4.0) and it's fitted with a remote controlled motor :-)

Clicgear is what I use & have never had a bad experience with them. Have some hilly courses I play at times & using a push cart actually made walking it nicer than carrying and walking.

  17. I started using a push cart after having some shoulder issues. I have since moved on to a remote controlled electric cart. I still use the hands on mode on steep hills and water, but it really is an easier walk.

Stewart X9 Follow after shoulder surgery. I struggled with a long recovery and found out quickly getting my arm through the carry strap was a chore with the limited range of motion during my recovery. It not only keeps me walking, but also allows me to use a larger bag with more pockets. Just picked up a green-black-white Hybrid 14 bag with my club logo on the ball pocket. The trolly keeps me out of the noisy golf carts with bumpy rides, unless the temps and humidity both are north of 90.

Just recently joined the push cart mafia. I have the Clicgear Model 4.0. Just used it for the first time this past Saturday. Very easy to fold and unfold. Also, it is surprisingly compact when folded down. The cart is very sturdy, holds my stand bag securely, and rolls very smooth. I like the convenience and location of the mesh storage bag as it keeps my rangefinder easily accessible. I prefer to walk when playing and the Clicgear made it even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend joining the push cart mafia and the Clicgear 4.0.

Clicgear. I've had it for a while now. They sell all kinds of gadgets you can hook up to it and stuff. It's definitely been nice to have...

Clicgear is a solid option but I found a nice price on a Caddy Tek at big warehouse store. I've got about 80 rounds on it since purchasing it in the fall of '19 and it rolls great and has been sturdy. I'd visit a few places to "test drive" before making a purchase but I was happy to save some $$.

I still have the first generation Clicgear (lol) and use it once in a while.
The new wheels they have now on new versions are great, but I don't like the inflatable tires that I have to pump every now and then. There are replacement wheels...
Also, Clicgear has a wide wheel base- it stays up during windy days.

Also, I have battery powered cart- it's old, too, and not remote controlled. It works.

Every once in a while, I still carry with a Sunday bag... very soulful alone in a round !!

I had a two wheel cart until a week ago. Just picked up a Tour Trek 360 and love the 3 wheels. Walking is the way to go. Looking forward to my next 9 after work tomorrow.
