On May 21st, 2022 on Hole 2 at Desert Blume Golf Club in Cypress County, Alberta I holed my first ace after 32 years of golfing. The hole was 186 yards uphill with a little wind into the tee. Pin was cut back middle. I struck a solid 6 iron to the left of the hole with a slight cut. The ball landed, hopped twice and rolled left to right, disappearing at the hole. The pin was cut in a place that is notoriously deceiving for thinking a hole-in-one had happened and although we felt it went in, I tempered my expectations (with an elevated heart rate). I let the group finish their tee shots, and we drove to the green. I exited the cart and not seeing my ball on the green, walked to the hole, peered over the edge, and found my Titleist 1 Pro Vx (with a green line) sitting in the bottom- some jumping and yelling followed. I have been obsessed with getting a hole-in-one my entire life, and religiously use a new ProV1 on each Par 3 I play to make sure that if I ever got one, I would have a bright shiny ball to display! Persistence paid off, and I have the perfect memento to keep for the rest of my life. Thanks Titleist for being part of my #1 Bucket List experience.
