So my story isn’t quite like the rest. My dad taught me how to play golf when I was young, I went to golf kid camps with him and he was very good. He always loved to watch me practice and learn how to play better, he loved Tiger Woods as much as I did because he had such a great golf game. He passed away when I was 11 years old and I was very sad. My mom had a boyfriend who is now my stepdad and he played in a golf tournament with me when I was 12. He hit a shot very close, almost impossible to get closer. I said kiddingly I would get closer, I hit my shot and it went in the hole. I couldn’t believe it. I was in shock. Hole number seven, with an 8 iron. We won 1st place in the tournament and I was so excited. 7 years later I was playing golf again with a group and we went to another hole 7 on that golf course. It was switched around ! I stepped up and it was 97 yards on the range finder, date was 3-7-2016 and it was the best feeling shot again of my life, hit the back of the green with my Titleist pro v1x and it spun back into the hole ! A second hole-in-one ! I went on my cell phone afterwards and had 77 emails, 7 phone conversations, 77 degrees outside. Everything just read 7. Now it brings my to today. 7 years later, I went to the same golf course and was playing in a league, ended up on hole number 11 with a yellow Titleist pro v1, very saddened about a couple bogeys and not making birdies for most of the day. I walked up to the tee box and it was 111 yards to the pin, took my 58 degree lob wedge, yes I said 58 degrees and hit it perfect, it went just left of the flagstick and I am like it might go in, it sure enough kicked right towards the pin and went in the hole !! My third hole-in-one. Let me just say to recap, I had a hole-in-one on hole number 7 when I was 12 with my stepdad, I had my second hole in one with my friends on another hole 7 when they switched the golf course around 7 years later at 19 years old, and I had my third hole-in-one today, 7 years later on hole 11, and I am 26 years old. Let me see what you think ? My mom told me years ago when I got my second hole-in-one that my dads lucky number was always 7.
I know he’s watching me and he’s proud of me, and I know that I might have had a little extra luck from him. I love you, Dad.
