Friday, January 13th, 2023…a very lucky day! The 8th hole at the Country Club of Spartanburg, SC was playing at 157yds from our tees for the breezy and chilly day uphill to a back left hole location, just at the base of steep slope behind the pin. My partner for the day and I play quickly. I hit 7 iron into the breeze and saw the ball hit close to pin-high and skip 12’ past the hole location to the edge of the fringe. The ball briefly paused and then started slowly rolling towards the flag. My partner, Dr. Greg Hooks hit his shot while my ball was still rolling; his landed before my ball dropped into the cup. A quick way to play the hole…but it took a while to happen. Yes, indeed…a lucky way to start the year. Titleist ProV1X #1

I just noticed the ball for a previous Hole-in-one September 2021 was a Titleist ProV1X #1 at Columbus Country Club, OH. Maybe there’s something to using a #1 marked ball.
