I have just started to play golf. I am endlessly frustrated with Par 3 holes because getting on the green in one shot is not my thing. To get a hole in one on the 7th hole at Umstead pines in North Carolina, was awesome but I was also very aware it was a fluke. My friend, Aaron Roberts, a navy pilot turned dentist, has been playing for years. He had oddly never seen one and never had one. He was more pleased than i was.
Then on the 18th, a difficult par 3, over water, from the blues, 180 yards out, we watch his ball fly directly at the pin. And disappear. He so deserved it. I was genuinely happier for him.
Has to be a rare thing indeed for two hole in ones in the same round. Hope it can give inspiration for the new and seasoned golfers alike.
