  1. My golfing buddies are a bunch of Seniors who play maybe twice a week at the beautiful Ranfurly Castle Golf Club in Bridge of Weir Scotland - I am the second youngest at 73! On the 7th August this year we numbered ony three, for varying reasons, and played up to the 7th hole, a short 169 yds whack, approached via a channel between rough on both sides. Now, for fairly obvious reasons, the group have been named "The Red Arrows" so David and Andy teed of hitting both left and right! Just to complete the 'set' I smacked my ball unusually straight uphill on to the green. I always wear contact lens due to the frequently wet weather on the West coat of Scotland, and these are not perfect but a 'trade off' between short/long distance i.e. my ball seemed to disappear in my blur. David said, Hey! that looked good. Bottom line, I never saw it go in. Every year at the 16th tee a posy of flowers appears which clearly marks a well loved and significant spot to persons unknown - on hearing this, my wife asked what she could do if I popped my cloggs and, as you may have guessed, I had previously nominate a bunker at the 7th where my ashes could torment my pals for years to follow.
