After 50+ years of golfing, I had my first hole in one yesterday, August 24,2024.

Every year, the Minn-Iowa Golf Club near Elmore, MN hosts a 3-man scramble. After 15 holes we arrived at the 180 yard par 3 hole 5. I hit my Titleist ProV1 with a five iron. The ball landed at the front of the green, drifted forward, caught the slope, slid left towards the cup and in it went.

As the ball slid left on the green, it went from sun to shade. So I lost track from the tee box. Another player said “it went in the hole.” We hurriedly drove up to the green to look in the cup. And to my amazement, there it was.

Good times with good friends.
