At the prime age of 63, I got my 1st hole in one on August 10, 2024 on hole #6 at Indianhead Golf Course in Mosinee, WI during the Friends of Indianhead Golf Tournament.
I hit my Titleist T300 9 iron 134 yards over the pond, the ball bounced twice and spun back into the Cup!
I was with my brother Mike who claims he talked me out of my 8 iron and into into my trusty T300 9 iron. I wish he would have taken half of the credit for the bar bill for 80 guys! Worth every penny.
I did not see the the ball go into the hole, poor eye sight, but my brother and opponents did. I didn't believe either of them. As we walked to the green, we did not see a ball. I thought it went over because there is no way I would have gotten a hole in one, right? As I walked to the pin, my brother recorded my reaction. My Pro V1 was in the jar!
As we were celebrating, I stopped 1/2 way through and told my brother that I was just messing with him and it wasn't in the hole which killed the mood for a second or two. Then I said "it is in the hole" and we went crazy again!
My brother handed his phone to "Doc" to video tape us together celebrating, but "Doc" had the phone backwards and video taped himself during our celebration. Way to go "Doc"!
IT was an awesome day!
