I've been an avid golfer for 65 years and have never had a hole in one. I was playing a friendly match with my golf buddies at Bellevue Country Club in Melrose, Massachusetts on Wednesday, September 11th. That day the 5th hole was a 158 yard tight par 3 protected by sand traps, a pond, a stream and heavy rough surrounding the green. There was a light breeze in our face so I opted for a knock down driver shot playing a Titleist 4 Pro V1. I hit the ball solid and as it sailed toward the green one of the guys said " I think it's got a chance." I've been in this situation before so I didn't get excited until he yelled " I think it went in." As we approached the green there were no balls on the green, so I grabbed my wedge and putter and headed to the rough at the back of the green while my buddies headed to the cup. My legs and mind went numb as they yelled" it's in the cup, it's in the cup". I will never forget that moment and the celebration at the nineteenth hole.
