On September 17th, which would have been my parents 69th wedding anniversary, I aced the 14th hole at my course, River Oaks Golf Club in Grand Island, NY. The 130 yard hole was playing into a slight breeze and, since I don't hit my irons really pure, I decided to go with an easy 5 wood. The pin was tucked behind a huge bunker toward the right side of the green. I was the in my group to tee off, having bogeyed the previous hole. The shot was a thing of beauty, having cleared the bunker and was tracking straight to the hole. None of us saw it go in, as the green is elevated and we were looking into the sun. As we walked up to the green, one of my partners mentioned that he didn't see my ball. I replied that I thought it was in the hole. The other two golfers in my group were already walking across the green to the hole when one of them asked "what ball are you playing?" I responded "a Titleist Pro V1 #7 with a small blue "c" on it". He looked down into the cup and said "yep, that's you! Congratulations!" Needless to say, I was over the moon! I'm thankful that I bought 3 dozen #7 Pro V1's (getting a dozen free) through my Pro Shop and thank you Titleist for making the perfect golf ball.
