I go away each year with my life long buddies on a golf trip. We've been friends for 45 years and grew up together in a community called Twin Rivers which was the first Planned Unit Development in NJ back in the 1960's. This year, I found a golf course called Twin Rivers Golf Club (in Oviedo, FL) close to Orlando where we were staying and knew we had to play this course.
Although my round was not going that well (the grass in the rough is near impossible to hit out of!), I stepped up to the 15th hole with optimism. I grabbed a 5-iron out of my bag to play the 155 yards from the white tees since the wind was blowing at me and I was hitting my irons a bit short all day. However, as I approached my ball, I felt I had a bit too much club so I went back to my bag and grabbed my 6-iron and as I walked back to the tee box said to my buddies, "whenever I change clubs, I always flub the shot". Well, I hit the straightest ball of the day over the bunker and hill that was in front of the green. I lost track of the ball when it went over.
As I drove up to the green, I didn't see the ball and was disappointed that another good shot somehow flew off the green somehow...until my buddy walked up to the green and turned to say, "you're never going to believe this!"
Was so excited I would've jumped in the lake next to the green....if we weren't in Florida!
