It was a cloudy overcast Tuesday here in Florida the day before Hurricane Milton was about to hit. Knowing I could be stuck inside for a few days, I decided to squeeze in a round at Mystic Dunes with my brother here in Orlando the day before the hurricane came. When we got to the course we were advised the range was already closed in preparation for the storm so it was a no warm up round and we headed to the firsts tee box. Started off okay, a couple bogeys and a few pars, then we get to the 7th tee box. I checked the distance and it was about 136 to the front of the green and about 145 to the pin. I pulled out my pitching wedge and my ProV1, took a couple practice swings, lined up to the ball and found my aim spot and swung. My brother and I watched as the ball flew in a direct path at the flag, the ball hit once about 8-10 inches away from the hole and took one bounce and disappeared. Both of us in disbelief thinking did that actually just happen, the realization kicked in and I yelled to him “I just got a hole in one” and he yelled “oh my god”. We cheered and celebrated and drove up to the hole and it was in fact in! The ball hit about 8 inches or so past the hole and ended up having backspin so when it hit and bounced it spun backwards into the hole. It still in shock and surprised it happened but happy it did and can’t wait til the next one!
