It was a perfect afternoon for golf: 73, sunny and low humidity. I decided to cut out of work early and meet a buddy for an afternoon round. Playing at our home course, 12 Oaks, the round was up and down, but the weather and the company was great. We got to the tee at the par-3 15th and my buddy had honors. He hit a wedge to the center of the green, about 15 feet from the hole. I was next, and my goal was to get it inside of his ball. Coming off the club face, I knew I hit it well…the line looked good. We watched it bounce once, bounce again and disappear. It took me a moment to register what happened, before we erupted into childish jubilation. I am not sure if I walked across the green or floated across to retrieve my Pro V1.
