I was playing in a halloween-themed women's tournament with the Girls Gone Clubbin' group called GOLFtoberfest. Two of my girlfriends and I signed up together and dressed up as Three Blind Mice (an easy and appropriate costume for us!). It was a scramble format and we were off to a slow start with a couple of pars and a handful of bogies. We arrived at hole 12 (our 10th hole of the day) and were reinvigorated after a quick snack and a great previous hole and excited because it was the Closest To The Pin challenge. First three up hit OB, so the pressure was on! The hole was a downhill par 3 reading about 90 yards with the slope. I hesitantly took a big swing with my pitching wedge, and we watched as it landed on the green near the pin… then very slowly dribble into the hole! None of us could believe it. We screamed in excitement. After taking a fireball shot, we drove down to the pin, hoping we saw it correctly, and confirmed it was indeed in the hole! My Titleist ball that I found in the woods on another course a couple weeks before turned out to be very lucky for me that day!
