Playing a not great round at a local not great course but playing with my friend of 50+ years (who got to witness the hole in one!). Got to 11 and not playing particularly well, a par 3 over some water very little wind which is unusual for where I live close to the ocean. Pulled a pitching wedge and my buddy even said, "you hit that pure". We saw it hit but didn't see the final result, because it rolled back 3 feet into the cup. We saw the ball mark as we drove up to the green and didn't see the ball. Then BOOM, there it was in the bottom of the cup.

Couldn't hardly believe it. At this age I figured if it hasn't happened by now it never was going to. Nice to have my lifelong friend and golf buddy with me for a witness. Memorable day!
