I’m a 20 handicapper, just out for a quick 9 after work. I start off strong—par, par, then a couple of bogeys. We get to the 5th hole, a driveable par 4 playing about 260 yards. The green is tucked behind two mounds we jokingly call “the *** crack.”
I pull out my 3-wood and absolutely cream it. The ball sails right between the mounds, dead on line. When I get up to the green, there’s no sign of my ball. I don’t want to jump to conclusions, so I start looking around—nothing. My mates are asking where it is, and I’m just as clueless.
Then I finally walk up to the hole… and there she is, sitting pretty at the bottom of the cup.
My first hole-in-one—on a par 4!
