12 years of playing golf and the day finally came. April 3rd, 2025. My boss and I hit the course for a quick 9 after work and man is it a 9 I will never forget.
Ooltewah Club in Ooltewah Tennessee.
Ball striking was mediocre on the day, but the swing felt good. We walk up on the 9th and we're looking at a 166 yard par 3. Bunker short right of the green, a false front, and the hole is laying on top of a shelf towards the back of the green.
This was the last hole of the day so the sun had already set, it was getting hard to see.
A slight draw starts right at it, I know the whole green slopes right so I'm liking it. I see it land about 3' right of the pin, starts to roll, and that's when it disappears on top of the hill.
With it being so dark we had no idea that it went in but we knew it was close. It wasn't until we approach the green and there is no ball in sight that we realize what had happened. Obviously, I run to the hole, see the ball sitting at the bottom of the cup and the celebration begins.
Truly a moment I will never forget.
