So anyone watching this tournament knows that the wind is really playing havoc with the scores.  I always like to see a handful of players rise to the challenge and battle it out in tough conditions.  I know that we've all played in poor conditions, but when you watch this, do you sympathize with the players, or do you secretly chuckle when you watch those scores rise?

Brutal conditions yesterday, but I have no sympathy for the pros.  Everyone has those types of days at work.  I will have to admit, I did feel a little bad watching Heath Slocum shank a tee shot into the water on a par 3.  I thought he handled it well.

  3. yea windy at the tournament, but i think they pros need to play the wind in their advantage, like i played in some windy conditions before and i always rely on the wind to take my ball so i think the pros need to just sit back and think bout the shots and not try to take aim like johnson wagner did took dead aim at pin and the ball flew past 10 yards

Playing in the wind is part of the game.  Can't take dead aim at the stick.   Working the ball, holding up against the wind or letting the wind drift or carry your flight.  Playing knockdown shots is an art.  These guys should be accustomed to these conditions by now in their career.  If not, they need more time on the practice tee.  I think some of the guys have their distances dialed in to within a yard, but wind seperates the men from the boys.

  5. I agree. Playing in harsh conditions is just a part of the game.

If they were paying full greens fees, I would feel bad.  But, since they are the best in the world playing for prize money, let the weather play havoc with the conditions!

I hear ya there.  When it's your job you've got to preform each and everyday, no matter what.  It's just crazy to watch someone hit a 9 iron 200 yards then hit the same club 100 yards on the next hole.  Wind changes everything.  Should be a fun weekend watching everyone navigate the Bear Trap.
