  1. Does anyone else always bring a rod and real with them to the course just for a few throws?

Would love to. But when I'm at the course it's singular focus.

Agree with T.Tiger. I respect the game too much to start casting, but I do know a few people who do. When you play courses in remote areas and the water looks too good to be true, it would be nice, but I would never do it.

Fair question though, don't want to make you think it's a terrible idea! Respect the course and players around you first.

I'll throw a few casts with my ball retriever and go fishing for balls!

When I was a kid ... yeah, I know, that was a long time ago. I played everyday after school and took a pole with me that had a mepps or red devil spoon on it. I caught many a small mouth in those days but weekday afternoons weren't that busy. Now that I'm a couple of years older and the courses are busier, I would love to toss a spinner into those frog infested ponds but just walk on by remembering my younger days.

    Bragg Creek,

I'm with Chris G. When I was younger, it was a jitterbug and the smallies for me. If I ever get back up to where the cottage was when I was growing up, I wouldn't be able to resist. But these days, The opportunity isn't there.

Now goose hunting and golf...those go hand in hand lol!

Nope, but there's several seniors at my club that do a lot of fishing with ball retrievers. I'm pretty sure they regrip every year
