Hey Tyler, yeah it happened to me about 5 years ago. Only difference was mine happened during the early part of the season, in May. I lost almost the entire year of golf. Man, I was one miserable dude that summer. lol

When I was playing on the hooters tour I had a back injury that kept me from golf for almost 2 years. I am just now being able to really play again 6 years later. Part of that is do to being in the Military its hard to play golf when you are deployed in the middle of the ocean for 8 months at a time.

I tore my achilles tendon 4 years ago and had surgery to repair.  That stopped my play for 8 months starting in June.  The only good thing about this type of injury is that walking the golf course was good therapy.

Tore my ACL about 10 years ago and couldn't play for about 6 months.  It was tough, but as someone mentioned earlier, walking the course was good therapy for my knee.

Ya, I already miss it. I work on a golf course, and seeing other people play doesn't help, haha. Did it hurt your guys game, or did you do anything to try and keep your swing in tact?

Ya, Thanks. I'm definately taking it easy. Just chipping, pitching, and some half swings for now.

  11. I tore my Labrum in my hip two years ago and started playing and competing within weeks after the braces came of. I am back on the injury list simply for not giving it enough time and proper rehab. hope to start playing in Jan 2011 (6 months after the injury) TAKE YOUR TIME AND STICK TO YOUR GUNS

Ya, I fell on my hand play soccer, and it broke a bone in my wrist. So i'm just getting back into it also, but here in Indiana season is pretty much over...I know how your feeling. Good thing is though I'm getting all new Titleist clubs. My vokey wedges came today!!

Wow sounds painful! At least you will have something to look forward to. Yea here in California the season really never ends, for me atleast.

  17. How's everything going so far?

Ya, i'm going to play as long as I can, and then hit in the batting cages at school just to swing the club. Ive just been hitting balls on the range, but It's actually going really well. I'm mostly just concerned about hitting it solid, and i'd say most of my shots are pretty solid. Just feels good to swing again! I also got my new vokey wedges....its been a pleasure haha

  19. Swinging a Vokey wedge/Titleist club, is always a pleasure. Congrats on the new wedges! You'll LOVE them and they'll serve you well.

How long do you have to take it easy? Are you going through any type of PT?

They are amazing, and I'm getting the 910 driver, fairway woods, and AP2's, so I'm excited! I have actually been hitting some full swings, and it feels really good. Most of the PT is just getting my full range of motion back, and I'm pretty close. Only bad thing is that it is getting cold in Indiana!

  21. It's good to hear that you're doing better. I'm sure that you'll be happy with your new clubs. I'm from OH, so I know how cold it gets up that way. The cold doesn't bother me though. As long as I can see green, I'll play/practice. Luckily, on the really harsh days, there's an indoor facility just a few miles down the road. Just to let you know, I did a quick search online for you and there's an indoor facility in Indianapolis. A couple of others were mentioned, but I couldn't confirm anything. Not sure where you're located though.

Thanks man, I am going to practice as long as I can see the ground...I also work at a golf course, so that is very helpful. Theres actually a indoor facility about 45 minutes away from me, which is nice. Indy is about 2 and half hours away. I appreciate it though.

  23. Not a problem man, anytime!

The indoor facility near me is OK. They have a bunker, nice putting green...the only thing that isn't so good is that the back, and top, of the dome, is only a pitch away. I can get a feel for my draws/fades/trajectory, but, just not quite as good as feedback as hitting outside.

Last year, in OH...it was a nice and sunny day. Absolutely beautiful. Granted, it was like 10* outside, colder with wind chill, but...well, the club was shutting down early that day, so, I decided to head to the indoor place. Little did I know...after practicing non-stop for 4 hours, I peeked out the window at my car...but didn't see it! It was covered in snow. We got a little blizzard that day, so, I had to stay a few more hours until they plowed the roads/parking lot.

  24. How's everything going? Did you get your clubs?

Hey, it's not going bad...sorry I forgot to reply to your last message. I was having some trouble releasing the club with my forearms, but I got it fixed so thats good.  Well we got a good layer of snow the last couple days, so ive been hitting into the nets at school. I got my Scotty ordered, but I was suppose to get fit for my irons and driver today, but I can't now because of the snow.

I had three fractures in my hand when the head of my 7 iron caught a rope that was kicked accidentally by another on the driving range.  Was out of commission for a while.  It was my right hand.  I compensentated by treating myself to a new Cameron putter and practiced left hand only.  When i returned back to play, putting was great.
