When keeping stats on my golf game I have a general idea of what's good and bad. But I was wondering if anyone knows where I can get  general/average scales for statistics relative to handicap? This way I'll be able to compare my numbers to say, what a typical scratch golfers statistics are. Thanks!

That would be hard to do because people can be a scratch golfer in so many different ways.  Someone could have a horrible long game but get up and down from anywhere and be a 0 handicap.  Then you could have a golfer who hits every fairway and every green and two putts everything and be a scratch golfer as well but go about it a totally different way.

Thanks Nick. I appreciate your response. I also saw where your favorite pro shop is Valhalla. Awesome course! I saw the 2000 PGA Championship there and the '08 Ryder Cup.

brad. golf digest had a article that listed what each handicap golfer  had to do to shoot certain scores , sand saves, gir and fairways hit, all you needed to know. it was a year or two when i read this. maybe you can google it and find the article.

Thanks Leroy. I appreciate your response and did find a good article in Golf Digest about Stats. Not exactly what I'm looking for but helpful and informative. Thanks Again.

At thegolfchannel.com they used to have gametracker, I don't know if it is still there or not, it started out free then turned into a pay service. But it did have stats based on hcp, if it was accurate I don't know.

fairwayfiles.com keeps hole by hole score, greens, fairways, putts, but doesn't have a hcp comparison.

Thanks John. I appreciate your response and help. I did find some interesting information and some good links.

  8. I keep stats of EVERY single little thing that I do on the course, and while practicing. Mr. Hogan also kept notes of everything that he did. That seemed to pay off, eh?
